Seven years ago today I became a Mrs.
We actually had two weddings. Yes, two.
“What?! Two weddings?!” “Oh no she didn’t!!!” you might be saying…but here’s why:
Wedding number one took place on a river cruise in Washington, DC in November 2004. Our January wedding was already planned, but we decided to have a civil ceremony in the US because many of our American friends (and even some family) could not travel to Chile.
Wedding number two (but official one) was a beautiful and simple Catholic ceremony in my hometown of Viña del Mar, Chile on a warm summer evening in 2005. We were married by my uncle who is a priest in the same chapel my parents had been married in 27 years earlier.
Today to celebrate, we left Little M with his grandma and we took a drive to Monticello the home of Thomas Jefferson (third President of the US) in Virginia and had afternoon tea at Keswick Hall in Charlottesville.
We talked without any interruptions.
We planned our new life.
We drank tea and ate delicious cakes.
An absolutely lovely way to celebrate seven years of being a Mrs.
