Over the Knee Boots and Tweed

Yucky is one way of describing how I feel.
Poo is could be another.

Anyway, you get the point. I’m feeling rough, but as a mami you don’t have a choice but to get out of bed and go about your day. In my case, with my main man Little M.
I really didn’t feel like wearing jeans, especially because they may just be a bit snug around the waist (okay, okay! I’ve gained a few and need to lose them ASAP!)
Today was a hang loose kind of day. So I pulled out my comfy knitted blue dress that ties at the waist, black leggings and striped white and black top. It was like being in PJ’s but better looking. I dug out my knee high low heeled boots and tweed blazer and I was good to go. And forget makeup. No way. Just a ponytail and sunnies.
I really didn’t have anywhere to go, but I did take the little guy to get his hair cut then did some food shopping and we made Chilean alfajores, mmm!
Oh and it being love day and all, I wanted to look presentable when the Mr. got home.
And you know when everything in the day seems to go wrong?
Yeah, well, no chance of getting any good pics. First Little M wanted to be held. Then he wanted to be in the pictures. Then he wanted to take the pictures. It was way too much drama and I gave up. These images describe my day perfectly…hazy, blurry, and messy.
But I just had to show you how gorgeous this H&M blazer is and the boots I snagged at TJ Maxx a few months ago. I love the elbow patches and the leather collar on it – perfect to liven up any outfit.
And the boots…oh the boots! First I’m happy I found something that fit around my calves and second they have amazing insoles which make them super comfy for walking around.
So that’s it for me. I’m still pulling out clothes from my boxes and suitcases. So each week I discover something new.
How was your Valentine’s Day? Did you wear anything special?

Brush Longer with the Disney Magic Timer App by Oral B (VIDEO)

Share Button

Sponsored by Oral-B. Cute kids and video ideas are my own. “brusha brusha brusha…” Okay, I admit, I had no idea you are supposed to brush for 2 minutes. Did you? Either way, the Disney Magic Timer App by Oral B (which is free) makes brushing fun by letting you — I mean your kids — create a profile, scan the chosen tooth brush, keep track of how many times a day they have brushed (something I need to work on) and gives them cool {Read More}

Bringing Sheer Nude Tights Back in 2015

Share Button

This post is sponsored by L’eggs Sheer Energy® Sheer tights. Styling ideas are my own. Call me crazy, but right after deciding to show the world what I look like in a swimsuit I opted to wear sheer, yes sheer NUDE tights (or is it panty hose?!) for a TV appearance. I have no idea what they are called these days because it’s been AGES since I’ve worn them. Related Post: Loving not Loathing #MySwimsuitStyle Colored and textured tights for me {Read More}

Up and Away: Safe Medicine Storage in your Home

Share Button

This is a sponsored post in partnership with KnowYourOTCs. Summer means fun in the sun, cannonballing into the pool, jumping waves at the beach and… kids spending more time at home which can lead to trouble. Their natural curiosity leads them to open cabinets, drawers and more often than not finding medicine bottles, eye drops, sun creams and lotions that are dangerous when swallowed. Therefore safe medicine storage is crucial to ensure safety in your home. I cannot tell you how many {Read More}

LOVING not Loathing #MySwimsuitStyle this Summer

For years I didn’t wear a swimsuit. I refused to because I despised the way I looked. We are intelligent, beautiful women who have started our own business ventures, have endured hardships, many of us have given birth, we have gone above and beyond what was expected of us —  yet we cannot bring ourselves to wear a swimsuit. I want ALL of you to enjoy the summer and to accept and love yourselves. Trust me, it’s not easy for {Read More}

Braving Bright Shorts this Summer

Take the plunge and join the #MySwimsuitStyle summer challenge! I don’t like to wear shorts — I prefer dresses and skirts during the summer, BUT my motto is TRY IT ON and well, with these group of stylish mamas, how could I say no? Mine need to be longer to avoid the dreaded chub rub and because, I’m gordita for life. Still it’s just a matter of finding the right look for YOU. I made the time to shop alone with {Read More}

Love Yourself this Summer

Until 3 years ago, I hadn’t worn a bathing suit in almost 10 years — simply because I didn’t like how I looked. I wasted years being miserable during the summer months and missing out on fun with family and friends — see full story here. As my friend and blogger Monique wrote recently in a swimsuit post “turn swimsuit anxiety into swimsuit happiness” and that’s what I’m setting out to do! In partnership with Sign Up for #MySwimsuitStyle Blog Hop  Starts {Read More}
