Race day! Rocking & rolling in Washington DC

Share Button

I’m off to run the Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon in Washington, DC (that’s 13.1 miles) and the Mr. and I are very excited to run it together. We usually run at very different paces but he agreed to “slow down” and race this one with me.

Of course, I have my running gear and outfit all sorted…you don’t expect me to just wear anything, do you?

Workout and running gear are also very bright for the Spring and I indulged in pink this year. First time I have ever worn so much pink in my life, but I’m enjoying it!

Here’s what I’ll be suffering running in and carrying along the way:

My pink & grey New Balances – love these!

Of course my number! And it’s pinkish/red which is a bonus

My pink & brown band RazzyRoo Headbands kindly gave me to add a finishing touch to my running look
My running pack and a Marathon Bar (or two) which have kept us energized on our runs & will get us through the race
And lastly my bright pink Champion top from Target. Their running gear is amazing quality and affordable!
I got this top for $9 on sale.
A few other items: chapstick, Vaseline to lather my feet in and water which they will have along the way. I don’t like carrying too much when I run because it just gets in the way.
Last year at this time I was a few weeks away from running the London Marathon…let’s hope today is a good race and I make my goal of running it in 2 hours 15 minutes.
See you at the finish!

See more CAMO looks: Styling Camo Flower Jeans Last week we embarked on our very first road trip — with two kids, a bag full of string cheese, juice boxes and endless amounts of toys and books. After getting our car sorted thanks to Ford, (more on that!) and figuring out just what we’d do, it was time to pack. For the kids, I took about 4 of everything, however I didn’t stress too much because we’d have time to do {Read More}

We weren’t planning a proper vacation this year, but a few weeks ago I realized that it was best to take time off and RELAX. Both my husband and I work very hard all year and well…we deserve it! My son is starting kindergarden at the end of the month and from now on, we won’t be able to pick up and take off anytime we want. We’ve taken a week and we are just starting out on our summer {Read More}

Good Housekeeping magazine?! What the whaaaaaat? I’ve never been a fan — cooking, baking and recipes just don’t do it for me. Only when the dentist or doctor is running behind do I pick up a copy —  if all other magazines are taken. A few months ago I actually for real, picked one up, opened it and READ it after my mother saved me a copy because she wanted to show me a style feature which had a picture of her newest London {Read More}
