Nothing worse than coming down with the flu and then having your toddler join you in the snot fest. ACKKKKK!
A few weeks ago I was absolutely DYING, I mean we were both in a state of emergency and it happened when the Mr. was away on business. My poor little man was complaining that his “mouth hurt” (throat) and this ears tickled. Between the two of us, we looked like we belonged in the movie “The Others”. Ghostly white, coughing, wheezing and didn’t want to be near the sunlight. Near death.
I may be a mamá myself, but when I’m out of commission, I call MY mamá to come and help. And that’s just what she did…came over and nursed us as best as possible.
When I was little, I would cuddle up in my parents bed, watch TV and have toast and soup. On the night stand would be a glass of water, tissues and whatever medication I was taking. My mamá would change the sheets and fluff my pillows so that I had a “fresh” start. I liked the special attention, and this time was no different. Especially if she could help get Little M back to health.
First thing my mamá did when she came over was make a list of what we needed…Tylenol Kids for Little M, orange juice, toast, crackers, and most importantly, tissues.
She was heading out to Target to get provisions and despite being semi-conscious I made sure to request the GOOD stuff and said, “Por favor, trae los pañuelos suaves. Los que tienen cremita” /”Please bring the soft tissues. The ones with lotion”.
There is NOTHING worse than blowing your noise with sandpaper like tissues and then having to put Vaseline on your scrapped up nose – it’s just counter productive, so I ALWAYS go for the good stuff. As gross as it sounds, I like that Kleenex tissues moisturize as you tackle snot – they are the ONLY tissues that actively release a cool sensation to soothe a sore nose on contact.
Their Care Pack and Share Pack have everything you need to actually make blowing your nose enjoyable as opposed to the torture I suffered as a child. The Care Pack comes with a Share Pack (seen in picture), Slim Pack, Lip Balm, 1 oz. Hand Sanitizer, Coupon Booklet for Kleenex Cool Touch, Kleenex Hand Towels and a Kleenex Car Wedge.
So there you go, if you are going to suffer through the flu (which we all do at least once during the winter months) do yourself and your nose a favor and get a box of Kleenex.
