Channing Tatum at White House Down Premiere in DC

I’ll just cut to the chase, last Friday was the premiere of the action comedy film starring Magic Mike and new daddy himself Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal and up and coming child actor Joey King — and fellow blogger, friend and Channing’s Step Up co-star Angelica of Clarendon Moms and I were there.

What a way to start the weekend!

Excited is putting it mildly! But more than just sharing the same breathing space with the gorgeous and talented actors, I arrived in style thanks to the car service Uber DC and rocked a pair of sweet and sexy black open toe bow pumps given to me by The Shoe Hive. I certainly felt like a very pretty mama!

What I Wore
I did go out and looked for a chic and classy number without any luck. In the end I dug out a black and white polka dot A-line sleeveless dress I had bought at Zara when I still lived in London (and never wore!), accessorized with the Stella & Dot Jolie necklace, a red clutch from Lou Lou Boutique and my pumps from The Shoe Hive. I wanted to look good and still be able to walk and be comfortable and this outfit did just that.

It’s amazing what you can find in your own closet!

Hosted by Denise and Melissa of The Moms, the “Mamarazzi” event included a reception at MATE, followed by an introduction to the film by the actors themselves then the screening. It definitely got a little hot in there!

While it was never confirmed there was going to be a meet and greet, it was certainly never denied (other Mamarazzi events have the bloggers meeting the cast of movies) and every single one of us in the room was left wondering, “will we, or won’t we” get 30 seconds with the stars to snap a picture? As a PR myself, I know things don’t always go as planned — and some things are out of your control. However I know that all of us there would have appreciated a little heads up.

Let’s face it, Channing missed out on a good thing!

The cast of White House Down. Outside the theater with Joey King and Channing Tatum waving at me!

Despite all of that, all was not lost and I enjoyed seeing my fellow blogger friends, how pretty we all looked and sitting right in front of the cast.

HELL YES I would have loved to have wrapped my arms around Chan (I can call him that) but just seeing him looking insanely sexy in his suit was good enough for me. I will say that my biggest regret was not being able to meet Maggie Gyllenhaal — I sadly missed her by a few seconds when I turned to speak to someone and she came by and into her car. The night ended with drinks at the rooftop bar of the The Graham Hotel then we Ubered it back home.

Oh and the movie…ehhhhh. Not my style. But the scene where the sprinklers come on and Channing Tatum gets soaked was pretty good. After that I don’t remember much! But all kidding aside, it is full of cheesy one liners and lots and lots of shooting and explosions. Think Independence Day. Movie opens nationwide June 28th.

One thing is for sure, I really need to get out more!

What do you get when you mix super awesome amazing MONAT hair, with day old undies and unshaven legs? Me on a Saturday morning! Here I am with my kids at the spray park last weekend. All looks good — right? Well, if you could take a closer look you’d see that haven’t waxed my legs and my feet are in desperate need of a pedicure. On top of that, the blue dress I’m wearing has crusted mocos smeared on it {Read More}

Honey Cocktail Recipes for Sweet Summer Drinks

Share Button

Sponsored post in collaboration with The Motherhood and The Honey Board.  There is nothing we love more for an extra bit of sweetness in our home than honey. I stir it into my coffee, add some over my plain low-fat yogurt, on toast with peanut butter and it replaces syrup on my pancakes — and now in my kids water and in my summertime drinks! This honey cocktail recipe that I appropriately named “Viva el Verano” which translates to “Long Live Summer” {Read More}

Find Babysitters ASAP with Urban Sitter

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own. I constantly struggle to find babysitters to cover the 5:00 – 7:30pm hours during the week and I have found myself passing up on on work events or simply an evening out with a friend because the thought of calling and emailing around to get coverage during that time is not worth all of the trouble. It’s an odd time, but my husband {Read More}

Recognizing Symptoms of Spring Allergies in Kids

This is a sponsored post in partnership with KnowYourOTCs. Cute kids with spring allergies and mocos are my own. News flash: the little people in our lives get spring allergies too. Who knew? However treating their symptoms and finding relief are different than for adult sufferers. I didn’t much on this and maybe some of you don’t either. As a serious allergy suffer — and I’m talking prescription medication taken with an over-the-counter one AND nasal spray (eeeeek!) on those extra pollen induced {Read More}

Wear Sunscreen NOT Sunburns #ChooseSkinHealth

This is sponsored post in collaboration with Neutrogena® and Latina Bloggers Connect. However, all opinions expressed are my own. It’s sunscreen season and time to think about your skin health more than ever. Memorial Day will mean spending time outdoors and the rest of the summer months should be about enjoying the beach, the kids doing cannon balls at the pool or playing with the hose in the backyard — NOT about painful sunburned skin. Scary to think but 1 in {Read More}
