Light and stylish! The NEW Maxi-Cosi Mico AP car seat

You know my battle with car seats — I pretty much despise them. Aside from having to use one by law for my children, I don’t like to carry them because they weigh an insane amount, they are super clunky and they are not exactly a good looking piece of baby gear. Just like my strollers, my husband and I prefer all of our baby gear to be practical yet have a stylish element to them. After all, we will be pushing the stroller we have now for a few more years and we might as well like what we see.

When M was born in London in 2009 we didn’t have a car, but in order to leave the hospital we had to get a car seat. I was instantly drawn to the smaller, more compact and lighter Maxi-Cosi car seat. It was compatible with our stroller and it was sleek.

I hadn’t seen Maxi-Cosi in the US until recently when I was asked to be an ambassador for their new car seat launch. I instantly said YES, because I was already familiar with the product and trusted the brand. This month, they are launching their NEW Maxi-Cosi Mico AP car seat range.

What makes the Mico AP so special? For starters it is the lightest infant car seat (when compared to similarly priced infant car seats as of April 2013) in its class. That right there won me over!

It also has an ergonomic handle for extra comfort when carrying (very important!) Oh and AP stands for Air Protect — as in Air Protect Side Impact Technology. The patent cushion system protects around your baby’s head and each Mico comes with a multi-position sun canopy with a flip out visor.

I will soon have Little L riding around in style — I chose the blue one so I will let you know how well I can carry it and how compatible it is with our stroller.

Have you heard of Maxi-Cosi? Have you bought their products — what do you think?

I love me a good snowy winter and the fun and stylish pieces you can wear during the cold weather months — including this Ecru suede, knit and fur jacket I picked up at the Old Town Boutique District Warehouse Sale a few weeks ago here in Alexandria from local shop Coco Blanca. However, this post isn’t just about this undeniably stunning jacket. No. It’s about the quality and the depth of it. I mentioned previously about working on transitioning my wardrobe {Read More}

Let me preface by saying that I do keep my makeup, especially red lipstick along with other items (jewelry, perfume, etc.) away from my toddler. However, she ALWAYS manages to find something, ANYTHING she can completely and utterly destroy — especially when she is bored and indoors due to winter weather. Clothing provided by J. Jill for one shirt three ways post. Getting dressed is more than the act of putting on clothes.  Anything from putting together looks with just a few pieces, mixing patterns, thinking of ways to style one garment several ways or giving life to a tired look are just a few ways it can be and is a creative process for me. At 36 I’m drowning out clothing and shoes that don’t make it past one season due to lower quality {Read More}
