Light and stylish! The NEW Maxi-Cosi Mico AP car seat

You know my battle with car seats — I pretty much despise them. Aside from having to use one by law for my children, I don’t like to carry them because they weigh an insane amount, they are super clunky and they are not exactly a good looking piece of baby gear. Just like my strollers, my husband and I prefer all of our baby gear to be practical yet have a stylish element to them. After all, we will be pushing the stroller we have now for a few more years and we might as well like what we see.

When M was born in London in 2009 we didn’t have a car, but in order to leave the hospital we had to get a car seat. I was instantly drawn to the smaller, more compact and lighter Maxi-Cosi car seat. It was compatible with our stroller and it was sleek.

I hadn’t seen Maxi-Cosi in the US until recently when I was asked to be an ambassador for their new car seat launch. I instantly said YES, because I was already familiar with the product and trusted the brand. This month, they are launching their NEW Maxi-Cosi Mico AP car seat range.

What makes the Mico AP so special? For starters it is the lightest infant car seat (when compared to similarly priced infant car seats as of April 2013) in its class. That right there won me over!

It also has an ergonomic handle for extra comfort when carrying (very important!) Oh and AP stands for Air Protect — as in Air Protect Side Impact Technology. The patent cushion system protects around your baby’s head and each Mico comes with a multi-position sun canopy with a flip out visor.

I will soon have Little L riding around in style — I chose the blue one so I will let you know how well I can carry it and how compatible it is with our stroller.

Have you heard of Maxi-Cosi? Have you bought their products — what do you think?

Bike Riding in Stella & Dot Style (VIDEO)

It was a beautiful weekend and Saturday was to die for! It was my prima’s last day before heading back to Chile so my husband and my other cousin and I all took her on a bike ride through Washington, D.C. We hopped on the Capital BikeShare in Alexandria and off we went. Wearing a comfy and stretchy blue dress and sandals,  I finished the look by accessorizing with my new Stella and Dot under $50 Lottie Necklace which had been delivered that {Read More}

Welcome to my first ever DIY post! I’m really proud of this because after realizing that I don’t do much else other than write, photograph and make videos, I needed a hobby — another creative outlet that I could enjoy and have on-going projects for myself. After coming to terms with the fact that we are not going to have new or pretty furniture anytime soon, I thought, “Hey, I can fix these up!” As a child my mom restored some {Read More}

Mourning the Loss of My Shoes After Pregnancy

Take a moment, relax, breathe and close your eyes. Picture opening your closet and seeing your shoes lined up in front of you. See them? All colors and styles. Now, image taking every pair and throwing them away in a big black garbage bag never to grace your feet ever again. Cruel, right? Who would do such a thing?! Let me back up. Shoes. Zápatos. Kicks. No matter how gordita I got, or when my jeans didn’t fit, or my jacket wouldn’t close, {Read More}

Along with 9 gorgeous mama bloggers, we bring you 10 different ways to embrace the floral trend. I wanted something with patterns not only to look good, but to conceal any stains from my kids (you know what happens after indulging in non-stop candy) and when holding and playing with any other babies. Sure enough, {Read More}
