All I knew about Bethenny Frankel was that she was a former “Real Housewife,” she had created Skinny Girl drinks and more recently when she publicly spoke about her miscarriage. And that’s where my Bethenny knowledge ended.
I’m not a reality show watcher and I’ve never seen a Real Housewife of Anywhere episode ever. You could put one of those women in front of me and I would have NO clue who they were. Besides, I really can’t handle the faux drama, the cat fights and the over botoxed faces of some of these women. It’s just not my thing. However because Bethenny has branched out past the reality shows with books and products, she is the only Housewife I recognize and kind of know.
A woman of all trades — Bethenny who is a mom and businesswoman is on a new venture and she’s going ALL OUT! Starting on September 9th on Fox 5 she will have her very own talk show called….you guessed it, BETHENNY.
She is currently on the Calling All My Girls Tour across the US and tonight they were in the nation’s capital. I haven’t had so much fun in a very long time — drinks, dancing, great music and a room full of beautiful women and a group of fabulous blogger friends including Laura of Beltway Bargain Mom, Andrea of NOVA Housewives and Angelica of Clarendon Moms.
There was a major party vibe and there wasn’t a dull moment all night — they even had a crowd hype guy, the one for the Ellen Show to be exact and he did his job extremely well.
OF COURSE I thought about what to wear and I ended up putting together a never before worn look with a few old favorites and a new top. It felt great to get all dressed up and actually wear heels again. I think the last time was for the Channing Tatum event and they weren’t as high.
I didn’t want to wear my little black dress that I wore to the H&M opening even though it fits and looks great. I wanted color, especially since it was such a party atmosphere. I brought out my classic Lisette L stretch pencil skirt and paired it with this new hot pink blouse from Target. I quickly added the belt to give me some sort of shape yet still hide the tummy and naturally added a piece of Stella & Dot bling (the Juniper necklace) to make the entire outfit POP.
I tell you what, it worked because Bethenny said “great colors.”
One of the first things Bethenny said when asked about her personal style is that she “re-shops” her closet all of the time and is constantly re-inventing outfits with older pieces — music to my ears!
So here’s the best part — at least for me! The blouse was very much within the Very Busy Mamá budget costing only $15. Ohhhh yes! AND, I can’t forget the most essential part of the outfit, something I don’t leave home without…my SHAPEWEAR.
Yep! Gotta keep the rollitos and additional curves in check.
Are you a Bethenny fan? Will you be watching her show? (And she really is THAT SKINNY!)
