You know I ADORE Stella & Dot.
Ever since the first trunk show my sister took me to over a year ago, I just fell head over heels. The prices can be steep, but every once in a while my mother and I will “gift ourselves” a little something. After meeting D.C. area super star stylist Kristin Biggs in May 2012 we’ve worked together on several projects so my bling collection has certainly grown. Each piece is so beautifully crafted and makes you feel like you could take on the world and the new Frida Kahlo range is no exception.
The fall 2013 range has pieces influenced by Mexican artist and legend Frida Kahlo which are, like the woman herself, extremely bold and versatile. They can easily take you from a day to night look in an instant. Color and vibrancy is the order of the day here — especially when it comes to the Frida Necklace which is bursting pinks and blues and the Union Square Frida Print Scarf.
I’m pretty certain I heard my friend Maura, editor of latinamom.me and brilliant food blogger at The Other Side of the Tortilla squeal with delight all the way from L.A. when I told her about this necklace. That’s the kind of reaction it gets!
My personal favorite is the New Limited Edition Kahlo Bib Necklace (seen above) — the mixed metals with pops of purple were just screaming my name. Last week I was stopped on the street by a woman asking where I got the necklace and I’ve had a few “nice necklace” thrown at me when out and about. Like Frida Kahlo’s work, the pieces command attention and they are not easily forgotten.
OH! I NEARLY FORGOT! I’m officially a stylist now. I KNOW — it was about bloody time. I will mostly be doing online sales and doing a few trunk show here and there. So if you are up for a Stella & Dot fiesta in the D.C. area just let me know and I’m all yours!
Now tell me, what do you think of the new Frida Kahlo inspired pieces? Which one is your favorite?
Disclosure: I was gifted this necklace by Kristin Biggs when I became a stylist.
