Hair Styles: Silky Straight Hair and Soft Natural Waves

Folica sent me both hair styling tools for review.

Sooooo, I love playing with my hair.

But I don’t have time.

Actually, I have time, but not for playing with my hair.

However, every once in a while I like to change things up a bit and find ways to make my life easier as a mamá and that includes making my beauty and hair regime simpler and faster.

Folica, whose motto is “it’s all about the hair” sent me a TIGI Pro Skinny Curl Wand and the Nano Titanium by BaByliss Flat Iron to “play around” with different looks and experience high quality hair tools.

 Wow, wow, wow!

Until now I had only experienced less-than-impressive styling tools — seriously. I’ve owned about 5 flat irons and I gave up on them a while back. Oh and curling irons — it’s a love/hate relationship with them because I can never get the right wavy or curly look. But no more — enter the curling wand to give me the soft natural waves I’ve always wanted!

Silky Smooth Straight Hair
About the Flat Iron
Unbelievable smoothness, heats up in seconds up to 450 degrees, no burnt hair smell, works in one go (no having to go over several times) and leaves my hair looking and feeling silky smooth and healthy — not fried like other flat irons. Great for smoothing out kinks, especially when you wake up with wild hair and you want to tame it and have a clean and polished look.

TIGI Pro Skinny Curl Wand
About the Curling Wand
Absolutely LOVE THIS! I had never heard of a wand and it’s simply magical. I’ve only ever used curling irons and as opposed to those, you curl your hair around the stick and have more control over the kind of look and curl you end up with. You can do tight ringlets, soft waves, low waves and higher “all over waves.” I had to practice, but I got it! I finally got the soft natural waves I have been trying to get with a curling iron but failed.

Which do you prefer, the straight or soft natural wavy look?

Now you can enter the Folica 2014 Giveaway for your chance to win these AMAZING hair tools! Also, out of the total entries, one reader will also have a chance to win the grand prize gift bag valued at $500.

      ¡gracias! I never straighten my hair because I hate the fried smell, but this one is amazing! I was shocked at how smooth and natural it looked and felt :) Thanks for entering!

    The waves are incredible. I love that they are loose. It’s hard to get natural-looking waves unnaturally! I have stick straight hair so I’m eager to give it a try. Fingers crossed!

    Your hair looks great – and I love both looks. It’s not easy to find a good straightening iron that can also produce those flowing waves. Good stuff!

Superga Footwear: Stylish Sneakers for Moms

When my husband is back home after two weeks away on a business trip (which is usually on a Friday afternoon), the weekend tends to be full on papi time! I log off (almost) everything and even if we are not doing anything exciting we do it all together — especially family walks! It was the perfect time to debut my new Supergas — these red stylish sneakers. I’ve been waiting for The Shoe Hive to have them in stock {Read More}

Blo Blow Dry Bar Offers Sleek and Sexy Gwyneth Paltrow Style Hair

Received hair services free of charge. Images and opinions my own. Last week I walked into Blo — North America’s first blow dry bar at their Dupont Circle location in Washington, D.C. with dry, frizzy, over hair sprayed and unwashed hair. I had been invited to experience the WASH, BLOW, GO concept (blow out and style) to celebrate the opening of their latest blow dry bar in Gaithersburg, Maryland and I wanted it to be worth my while. What is Blo Blow {Read More}

Packing Light: Same Outfit, Three Days

Share Button

Talk about REAL mama style. Yep. Same outfit, three days (well, not SAME outfit, I did have one other shirt.) Last week I took a last minute trip to New Jersey without my husband or the kids to visit my sister-in-law and my 3 month old niece. My husband was away on a business trip and my mother didn’t have any major plans so I was able to get away and leave the kids with her. I really didn’t want to drive {Read More}

Doing the Trying-To-Fit-Into-Pre-Baby-Jeans Dance (VIDEO)

We’ve all done it. Trying to get into those jeans — pulling them up as far as they go, up over the hips and above the belly button making sure nothing spills out. Sucking in air and then trying to button and zip them. Or telling yourself  “let me sit down and stretch them out a bit” and then doing the trying-as-hard-as-you-can-to-get-into-these-f-ing-jeans dance only to give up and realize, they JUST DON’T FIT. With Fitness on the Run I’ve been {Read More}

Dreaming of a Family Friendly Italian Holiday

Share Button

*Sponsored content I’m not going to lie, this family hasn’t had a proper vacation in many, many years. We’ve had small trips here and there, but I’m still waiting for our south of France or Italian holiday getaway just as my husband promised years ago when we still lived in the UK. During our trip to London this April,  Villa Pia, a 15th century Italian country manor house, once the summer residence for a Florentine family (yep, just what it says) offered {Read More}
