Embroidered H&M Tiger Sweater and Striped Joules Wellies

I can’t decide what sort of animal this is on my sweater — a tiger, lioness, leopard or what? I did a search and found nothing that convinced me, so I’m putting it out there for you to tell me.

However, for the time being, this embroidered feline top will be referred to as a tiger sweater. I picked it up last week at H&M and I believe it’s now on sale.

It’s been absolutely freeeeeeeeeeeezing all over the country and the nation’s capital was no different. We got a bit of snow, but it was all gone the next day — that little patch I’m standing on and some on our front yard is all that was left outside our door.

This grey tiger sweater joins my Taylor Swift style fox sweater that I bought last year from Old Navy. I get lots of compliments on both sweaters when I’m out and my son wants one too.

Despite the very thin layer of snow, my son insisted on sledding on it so my husband and I stood outside watching him slide down in what can be described as muddy snow. He looked so happy we couldn’t deny him! I knew he’d want me to push him so I grabbed my wellies from the front porch to avoid getting wet and muddy.

These wellies are my babies. They are my absolute all time favorites! I bought them in the UK at a shop called Joules in Richmond and I can’t get enough of them — super stylish and I love stripes.

I wore the grey tiger sweater with a chambray shirt, cobalt jeans and an A-line coat all from Old Navy and all as old as time. Well, not old, but not new.

It’s a simple look anyone can put together and can be dressed up with booties or knee high boots.  I rarely just wear a sweater on its own. It’s best to layer — this also helps conceal lumps and bumps and camouflage problem areas. Here I was able to elongate the waist with a longer top underneath the tiger sweater and smooth out my hips and tummy a bit.

Hey, a mama has to do, what a mama has to do!

Now, what animal is this??

    I’m seeing a lioness. It reminds me of Nala from The Lion King. I love how the face sparkles. I adore your wellies. Joules is the best place for them although I have a pair of red Hunters. Enjoy the rest of your week. :-)

Received hair services free of charge. Images and opinions my own. Last week I walked into Blo — North America’s first blow dry bar at their Dupont Circle location in Washington, D.C. with dry, frizzy, over hair sprayed and unwashed hair. I had been invited to experience the WASH, BLOW, GO concept (blow out and style) to celebrate the opening of their latest blow dry bar in Gaithersburg, Maryland and I wanted it to be worth my while. What is Blo Blow {Read More}

Packing Light: Same Outfit, Three Days

Talk about REAL mama style. Yep. Same outfit, three days (well, not SAME outfit, I did have one other shirt.) Last week I took a last minute trip to New Jersey without my husband or the kids to visit my sister-in-law and my 3 month old niece. My husband was away on a business trip and my mother didn’t have any major plans so I was able to get away and leave the kids with her. I really didn’t want to drive {Read More}

Doing the Trying-To-Fit-Into-Pre-Baby-Jeans Dance (VIDEO)

We’ve all done it. Trying to get into those jeans — pulling them up as far as they go, up over the hips and above the belly button making sure nothing spills out. Sucking in air and then trying to button and zip them. Or telling yourself  “let me sit down and stretch them out a bit” and then doing the trying-as-hard-as-you-can-to-get-into-these-f-ing-jeans dance only to give up and realize, they JUST DON’T FIT. With Fitness on the Run I’ve been {Read More}

Dreaming of a Family Friendly Italian Holiday

Share Button

*Sponsored content I’m not going to lie, this family hasn’t had a proper vacation in many, many years. We’ve had small trips here and there, but I’m still waiting for our south of France or Italian holiday getaway just as my husband promised years ago when we still lived in the UK. During our trip to London this April,  Villa Pia, a 15th century Italian country manor house, once the summer residence for a Florentine family (yep, just what it says) offered {Read More}
