Gold Medal Hair and Winter Skin Care on Let’s Talk Live

Yesterday morning I went on Let’s Talk Live, a local Washington, D.C. area news show that is part of the ABC network to talk about gold medal worthy hairstyles and winter skin care tips in the lead up to the Winter Olympics.

Doing PR for so many years, I’m usually the one accompanying my clients on set, media training them and making sure they stay on topic and well…smile (that’s important!)

This time, it was just me in front of the camera, no one to guide me and certainly no one to take those cool snaps of you LIVE on the air.

But no matter, I worked it out and had my cousin take pictures from home on the TV, I took a few selfies (of course!) and I asked someone to take a full-body shot before going on.

HOW they managed to mess it up, I don’t know! It’s blurry, but at least you get the idea.

For my outfit, color was important so that I didn’t get lost on screen and the red lips gave me a sense of fearlessness! I don’t want to give it all away, so please do check out the segment here.  I promise you there is humor — “sock hands” anyone?

Watch it and you’ll know what Natasha and I were talking about — we certainly had a good laugh about it!

Mama Wears a Skull Print Scarf

Sometimes you just want to add a bit of edginess to a classic look, at least I do. That’s what happened last Thursday when I wore this skull print scarf that I bought at H&M for $3 from their sale bin two weeks ago. I was going on Let’s Talk Live to do my monthly segment and the dress I was going to wear was a bit too snug in the chest area — the good news is that it fits because of the 12 {Read More}

Sponsored post in collaboration with The Motherhood and Look Good Feel Better. We all like to look and feel good, that’s just natural. No one purposely sets out to do the opposite — at least I wouldn’t think they do! As a woman and mother, I’ve had my ups and my doooooowns and each time with help and support I get back up, get it sorted and move on.  Many times when we do start anew, we start by changing {Read More}

Fitness Classes and Stylish Gear for Every Stage of Motherhood

It’s never EVER easy to get back into working out after an extended ‘leave of absence.’ As mamas we are busy, yes, but depending on the age of our children, our “busy” can vary. For instance, a new mom has a variety of challenges and fills her days differently than a mother with school age kids. You get it.  So when it comes to working out, getting in shape and feeling good the same applies. Fitness classes are NOT a one size fits {Read More}

Date Night Idea: Cirque du Soleil Amaluna at National Harbor

I received complimentary tickets — no other compensation given. Opinions are my own. The lights were turned off and the audience was still as we sat waiting for the start of Amaluna,Cirque du Soleil, when my husband leans in and whispers “Thank you. It was a good idea to get out on our own for a date night” and then of course, made a move for a good old fashioned make out session. Well, ok. Not making out, but you know, a little {Read More}

Budget Friendly Designer Shoes: Christian Siriano for Payless

This weekend was a busy one getting ready for my son’s first day of kindergarden — which aside from school supplies included new undies, socks and shoes. He wears a uniform and there are rules when it comes to color and style so I had to run all over town to get the right ones and in the end, Payless came through for me. On Sunday I went on a double date with my cousin and my husband to see Cirque {Read More}

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Just like clothing, makeup has different uses and can be “styled” to create a variety of looks. My day to day makeup for an all day look at home is not the same as my night time makeup, or if I am shooting a TV segment. However, “simple” doesn’t mean nada — it means using a few key products that will enhance your features {Read More}
