I’m sure you can understand that I took waaaaaay tooooo many pictures during our two weeks in London.
Besides the insanely cute pictures of my children and my husband (of course!) I naturally took the chance to photograph a few of my outfits against some of the world’s most iconic landmarks — including the tube or the Underground.
London is a city where you need to dress in layers — year round. The weather WILL change at any given time. Also, it may be one temperature above ground and then you get on the Tube and it’s a million degrees hotter and stuffier and smellier — again, year round. No AC there!
For the Easter weekend most of the city was deserted since you have Good Friday and Easter Monday off and most Londoners take off to the country or head back to their hometowns.
For us, the underground was on a restricted service which made it harder to get around, but somehow we were on a tube carriage that was completely empty for most of our journey. In the 6 years we lived there, I don’t think I ever had that happen.
I wore this beautiful Karen Kane cobalt knot tie top (gifted) which has a leather-like collar.
With wider hips I have a difficult time finding blouses and tops that will flow nicely, so the fact this one is made to tie in the front made it wearable for me and the color is just too delicious to pass on. I layered it with a light blue button down shirt and then a CAbi trench coat.
I added the fedora from Uniqlo for two reasons: 1) my hair was not cooperating with me that day and 2) I wanted to add a summer time feel to my 2 week holiday and finished off the look with bright red Tieks which are insanely comfortable and cute!

Your host for this week is Momma in Flip Flops
This post is about real mamas who have real style. While we all fall into the jeans and t-shirt rut we are encouraging our fellow moms to take the time to dress their best and rock it like the rock star moms they are!
Did you look especially good this week, were the other moms at the playground complimenting your outfit?
Share the look that worked for both potty training, the playground and coffee with a friend and let’s inspire each other with some real mom fashion! This linky is hosted by Thrifty and Chic Mom and Very Busy Mama.
