Before my unfortunate panic attacks and hospitalization last week, I did have one good day in San Francisco for the PBS Kids Annual meeting and it involved a high-profile muppet, one of my favorite pink tops and my new coral matte lipstick.
As a VIP — Very Involved Parent I get the behind the scenes on new programs, apps and the latest research to name a few.
¡Me encanta PBS! Mostly because it holds many fond memories of my early years in the US. I learned English with PBS and even before moving here, I like many other children in Latin America watched Plaza Sesamo or Sesame Street.
There is no denying that meeting the legendary Cookie Monster was a massive highlight for me. And that, of course, called for a wardrobe change! (alright, alright — so I didn’t change for the Monster. I changed because it was insanely hot in the city and I needed to take off the long sleeve top that I had traveled in).
My anxiety was already poking it’s ugly head because I felt a bit nauseous at the time (which I feared could be food poisoning) but even so I did manage to put on a loose fitting pink blouse and my new coral matte lipstick I got on my recent trip to London. After a few sprays of dry shampoo I was suddenly having a great hair day and I was good to go yet still “not feeling right.” I’m grateful for a few good moments before the 4 day anxiety/vertigo bust up took over my body leaving me completely out of commission.
The furry, lovable and cookie loving monster agreed to make a video with me for my kids and I taught him how to say cookie in Spanish.
Talk about REAL Mom Style — it doesn’t get more REAL MOM than meeting Cookie Monster and loving it!
