I’ve been doing semi-private and one on one sessions at Fitness on the Run here in Alexandria and I’ve started adding long walks, took an Xtend Barre class last week and despite knowing I’ve got no rhythm (well a little bit) tried a Senzasao class (think Zumba x 100!) to up my cardio.
Through all of it, I was wearing an ill fitting (and looking!) old shirt, ancient running shoes (I told you it’s been a long time!) and standard black tights which were coming apart at the waist. Talk about BLAH.
Desperately needing a pick me up, I remembered seeing a friend wearing a very cute and practical workout skirt. Talk about super cute and feminine! I remembered it was from Lululemon and what stood out from other running skirts (there are many) was that it had a sort of layers or ruffles in the back.
I made time to go and try it on and what do you know — it looked good, fit well and instantly made me want to get running or moving, ANYTHING!
Afterwards I bought a bright pink sports bra and top from Old Navy and purple shoes from Target. The skirt was a splurge at $58 but there are other less expensive options from other retailers — however, NOT as cute. The rest of my gear was budget friendly as usual.
The running skirt is comfortable, has shorts underneath, stretchy and just gives me that extra flair when working out — something I was in dire need of.
Your host for this week is Thrifty and Chic Mom
This post is about real mamas who have real style. While we all fall into the jeans and t-shirt rut we are encouraging our fellow moms to take the time to dress their best and rock it like the rock star moms they are!
Did you look especially good this week, were the other moms at the playground complimenting your outfit?
Share the look that worked for both potty training, the playground and coffee with a friend and let’s inspire each other with some real mom fashion! This linky is hosted by Thrifty and Chic Mom, Momma in Flip Flops and Very Busy Mama.
