If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook you will have seen me FINALLY working out and working to relieve stress and improve my wellness overall. After my series of panic attacks in San Francisco, I came back scared and determined to get better. First thing I did was book a time to see a therapist, something I had shoved aside for more than a year.
Then after realizing I had gained nearly 20 lbs since having my daughter I took advantage of the fact that I now have childcare to start working out. I partnered with Fitness on the Run, an Old Town Alexandria personal training and semi-private training “gym” to help regain my strength, build muscles and lose weight. I ALWAYS, always say you have to love yourself and be comfortable. But guess what, I’m not comfortable anymore!
My undies are too small, my bras are tighter, my “fat” jeans don’t fit and I just don’t feel like ME. I’m not being hard on myself at all — I’m being realistic and taking the opportunity to GET MYSELF BACK TO HAPPY. Not just in fitness, but being mentally fit as well which is all part of the healing process.
I have documented my first month at Fitness on the Run and how I’m feeling. Today I wasn’t feeling up to doing anything, in fact I woke up angry and frustrated with myself. I struggled with my workout, but it felt great to “sweat out the nasties” and clear my head.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and take care of yourselves. We are better mamas when we feel good about ourselves (and I yell less too!)
