I was heading to get some coffee after working out one morning at Fitness on the Run in Old Town Alexandria, when something red and shiny caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I turned and saw in the window of the Look Again Resale shop a pair of red patent pumps and just stopped dead in my tracks.
I rushed in, grabbed them and what do you know…they were a size 7.
And I’M a 7!
I slipped one on my bare foot and it was like stepping on a pillow…so soft and comfortable. I turned the other shoe over and I squealed with delight when I saw the price tag — $8! Oh, oh, oh!
First, of all I LOVE RED. Anything RED.
The heel was just right — not too high, not too low. Making them walkable, especially in Alexandria!
The price was of course, AMAZING!
AND, they were comfortable. In fact, the brand, Sofft, which I’d never heard of is known for its mega comfort.
Last week, The Biggest Baby Shower hit the nation’s capital and I wore them with my blue A Line stretch dress from Target with a jean jacket and my Daliah Stella & Dot necklace (gifted), similar to what I wore on the red carpet for the GI Film Festival in Alexandria.
I don’t visit many (if any) thrift or second hand stores, but I feel lucky to have found these making me wonder if I should just take to local resale shops for a gander every so often.
Any thrifting tips for this mama?
