A Fashionable Playskool Playdate with Stylish D.C. Mamas

Share Button

It’s #RealMomStyle Monday here and today is certainly jam packed with mamas!

Last week I attended the Hasbro Playskool Playdate here in Washington, D.C. with other area moms of pre-school aged kids. Hasbro was introducing new Sesame Street and Playskool toys for the season with a super hero theme and M went straight to the robots and Mr. Potato head.

I was actually super excited about this event because we don’t get many big brand events here in the nation’s capital AND I just missed them. Really! In London I went to kid-themed events often and even M was happy saying “¡GRACIAS mami, por fin un evento de niños! / THANK YOU mami, finally an event for kids!”

Of course I met up with fellow bloggers and got to meet their kids — It was as if my Instagram feed came to life.  Aside from that, it was a room full of gorgeous stylish mamas and I’m happy to show them all off to you!

Your host for this week is Momma in Flip Flops

This post is about real mamas who have real style. While we all fall into the jeans and t-shirt rut we are encouraging our fellow moms to take the time to dress their best and rock it like the rock star moms they are!

Did you look especially good this week, were the other moms at the playground complimenting your outfit?

Share the look that worked for both potty training, the playground and coffee with a friend and let’s inspire each other with some real mom fashion! This linky is hosted by Thrifty and Chic Mom and Very Busy Mama.

    Alright Mama Mia!! I adore that you featured all these great mamas, and I love that I follow several. How to choose just one.

    #1. I LOVE those beads on you. Love, love, love! The shoes pull it all together, so cute.
    #2. Keonte, I saw this on IG and I adore the dress. I haven’t been brave enough to try sandals like that yet, but totally something I would wear and I LOVE her hair… love it!!
    #3. Nikki, super cute shorts. Basic yet adorbs.
    #4 Kiley, I’ll take that necklace right now.
    #5. Andrea; I totally have the exact outfit in coral. Cute & love the name. ;)
    #6. Angelica – I totally need to try the jumpsuit again. I looked like a beast, but she is rockin’ and with the print. Brave and glam.
    #7. Ashley, basics and cute.
    #8. Mindi, can’t beat a dress you feel comfy in.
    #9. Heather, always wearing something cute and maybe I’m behind, but I didn’t catch when she cut her hair. Super cuteness!!

    Thanks for sharing all this fabulous inspiration. Beautiful women & looks like you add had a wonderful time!

      Andrea, THANK YOU! Target Clearance FTW! My Husband hated the outfit, said it “didn’t match” he just didn’t “get it.” It was s total “Clleless” movie outfit. Because “As IF” to my Husband! LOL! And YES! Chop went my hair!!!

      • Andrea Summers

        Hubbys usually don’t have a clue when it comes to that stuff. Haha!!

        LOVE the hair. :)

    Such great outfits! I especially love Keonte’s! Wish I could have been there to meet all of you fun ladies, but my daughter was sick. Plus my prego mama style is pretty boring since hardly anything fits. LOL

      We missed you!!! Next time!

      Next time and I’m sure your preggo style looks just fab :)

    Thank you for including us all in this wonderful round-up. I love that it shows our individuality (because “MOMS” are always clustered in the same group). It was wonderful meeting everyone. I would easily wear (and probably own) a piece from each person’s picture. What a great group. @andreasummers:disqus , what kind words. I live in my gladiator sandals. Ironically, they feel empowering. You should give them a try.

    • Mindi Stavish

      I love those sandals. I think they would look silly on me being so short. They would likely come up to my knees or past them!!

    • Andrea Summers

      I totally need to Keonte!!! :)

      thanks mama and I love showing off other looks too!

  • Ashley @irishred02

    thanks for showing us off! I hope we get more playdates soon :)

      Yes, hope so!

  • Mindi Stavish

    So great to see all of you! Love this round up.

Reflecting on the Good of 2014 Despite the Bad

This is a compensated post in collaboration with Children’s MOTRIN and The Motherhood.  Aaaaaaand it’s December. I realize we are mid-month already, but just before Thanksgiving my husband and kids packed up our bags and left for Chile. It was a last minute, spur of the moment decision. Not to be adventurous, but to say goodbye to my sweet and handsome Opa (grandfather) who, chances are will not see the new year. During those two weeks, not only did I {Read More}

At Home Healthy and Vibrant Hair Color by Madison Reed

Share Button

Sponsored post in collaboration with Madison Reed. All opinions my own. I haven’t colored my hair at home since…. ohhhhh, I can’t remember. I rarely do all over color because I find they are harsh and looks terrible as it grows out. However, I’m older now (cough) and I have some pesky greys coming in which I don’t quite fancy seeing everyday. Madison Reed, salon quality haircolor approached me to try it and well — I did! No joke, I {Read More}

Embrace and Rock Your Curves with NEW Lee Curvy Fit Jeans

This is a sponsored collaboration with Redbook and Lee Misses. All opinions are my own. Jeans are never easy to shop for and over the years I’ve come to realize that it’s not just me. All over, women are not fully satisfied with the way their pants fit. One thing I cannot tolerate is the gap in the back — ahhhh drives me insane. I’ve never had a problem with it myself, but I’ve been “exposed” to it many a times. My {Read More}

Since I could read I have loved books. I could finish a book in a weekend, I’d volunteer to read aloud in class and a new book was always on my list of things to buy. Along with my love of reading, I was blessed with 20/20 vision despite desperately wanting glasses as a child. I know, crazy! I’d even pretend to struggle on my yearly eye exam at school. Each time I was sure I’d given an Oscar worthy {Read More}

A Hand Model’s Daily Beauty Routine

Share Button

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of AmLactin. The opinions, text and severely dry hands are all mine. Aside from freshening up my hair with dry shampoo, applying BB Cream or a light foundation, adding a dab of blush and giving my lashes a much needed boost with mascara, part of my morning beauty routine is moisturizing my hands. Especially now with the colder weather and drier air. They don’t get just dry, they CRACK and peel {Read More}
