Superga Footwear: Stylish Sneakers for Moms

When my husband is back home after two weeks away on a business trip (which is usually on a Friday afternoon), the weekend tends to be full on papi time! I log off (almost) everything and even if we are not doing anything exciting we do it all together — especially family walks!

It was the perfect time to debut my new Supergas — these red stylish sneakers. I’ve been waiting for The Shoe Hive to have them in stock and as soon as I saw they were in, I was over there in a flash. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: athletic/running shoes should NOT be worn for style. NO! They should be used for working out or running or whatever type of exercise you prefer to partake in.

If you want to rock the comfortable mama look, PLEASE go for the stylish sneakers option which will look great with shorts or jeans and even skirts! And yes, you guessed it, such as these red Supergas.

In my opinion they are better than Chuck Taylors, much more classy (think of them as the European cousin of Converse), comfy (way more!) and they come in a variety of colors. I have a pair in mushroom/tan which I’ve styled in a variety of ways and now these. Wearing shorts and striped shorts, these were certainly the WOW factor my outfit needed.

Remember: every outfit you wear should have one WOW piece. Shoes, bags, necklace, etc.

Really, how can you go back to your frumpy shoes after wearing these stylish sneakers?

Talk about real mom style — these are perfect for the playground, around the house, a play-date, shopping and going for walks with the kids. Come on, you know I’m right!

Oh and in case you are wondering, my daughter is wearing Mini Melissa shoes which are basically the new version of jelly shoes without the stink and much, much more stylish.

Your host for this week is Momma in Flip Flops

This post is about real mamas who have real style. While we all fall into the jeans and t-shirt rut we are encouraging our fellow moms to take the time to dress their best and rock it like the rock star moms they are!

Did you look especially good this week, were the other moms at the playground complimenting your outfit?

Share the look that worked for both potty training, the playground and coffee with a friend and let’s inspire each other with some real mom fashion! This linky is hosted by Thrifty and Chic Mom and Very Busy Mama.

    We both agree on this point and these red shoes are fabulous I need to check out Superga!

    Super cute and I completely agree. Work out shoes are for work outs, not for style. Super cute red shoes. :)

I’m constantly looking for ways to improve or change up my style and look. Not that I’m unsatisfied, but as I’ve said before, it’s not just about getting dressed — it’s a creative process for me and one that I truly get joy from (except for when my jeans won’t go up past my thighs or when I have a permanent indent on my stomach from the button mark… you know, gordita problems.) Together with Ellen of That Chic Mom {Read More}

Sponsored by FitTea PostNatal FatBurner. Losing the baby weight struggle stories are my own. I’ve always been gordita and I gain weight just thinking about a carb. I don’t have to stray much from the norm to feel my jeans getting tighter — I know because I’ve been a range of sizes from 6 to 18. Naturally during my pregnancies I gained weight. When I had my son in 2009 I was in pretty bad shape due to having pre-eclampsia, a risky birth and a {Read More}
