Superga Footwear: Stylish Sneakers for Moms

Share Button

When my husband is back home after two weeks away on a business trip (which is usually on a Friday afternoon), the weekend tends to be full on papi time! I log off (almost) everything and even if we are not doing anything exciting we do it all together — especially family walks!

It was the perfect time to debut my new Supergas — these red stylish sneakers. I’ve been waiting for The Shoe Hive to have them in stock and as soon as I saw they were in, I was over there in a flash. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: athletic/running shoes should NOT be worn for style. NO! They should be used for working out or running or whatever type of exercise you prefer to partake in.

If you want to rock the comfortable mama look, PLEASE go for the stylish sneakers option which will look great with shorts or jeans and even skirts! And yes, you guessed it, such as these red Supergas.

In my opinion they are better than Chuck Taylors, much more classy (think of them as the European cousin of Converse), comfy (way more!) and they come in a variety of colors. I have a pair in mushroom/tan which I’ve styled in a variety of ways and now these. Wearing shorts and striped shorts, these were certainly the WOW factor my outfit needed.

Remember: every outfit you wear should have one WOW piece. Shoes, bags, necklace, etc.

Really, how can you go back to your frumpy shoes after wearing these stylish sneakers?

Talk about real mom style — these are perfect for the playground, around the house, a play-date, shopping and going for walks with the kids. Come on, you know I’m right!

Oh and in case you are wondering, my daughter is wearing Mini Melissa shoes which are basically the new version of jelly shoes without the stink and much, much more stylish.

Real Mom Style Badge Small

Your host for this week is Momma in Flip Flops

This post is about real mamas who have real style. While we all fall into the jeans and t-shirt rut we are encouraging our fellow moms to take the time to dress their best and rock it like the rock star moms they are!

Did you look especially good this week, were the other moms at the playground complimenting your outfit?

Share the look that worked for both potty training, the playground and coffee with a friend and let’s inspire each other with some real mom fashion! This linky is hosted by Thrifty and Chic Mom and Very Busy Mama.

    We both agree on this point and these red shoes are fabulous I need to check out Superga!

    Super cute and I completely agree. Work out shoes are for work outs, not for style. Super cute red shoes. :)

Embrace and Rock Your Curves with NEW Lee Curvy Fit Jeans

This is a sponsored collaboration with Redbook and Lee Misses. All opinions are my own. Jeans are never easy to shop for and over the years I’ve come to realize that it’s not just me. All over, women are not fully satisfied with the way their pants fit. One thing I cannot tolerate is the gap in the back — ahhhh drives me insane. I’ve never had a problem with it myself, but I’ve been “exposed” to it many a times. My {Read More}

Since I could read I have loved books. I could finish a book in a weekend, I’d volunteer to read aloud in class and a new book was always on my list of things to buy. Along with my love of reading, I was blessed with 20/20 vision despite desperately wanting glasses as a child. I know, crazy! I’d even pretend to struggle on my yearly eye exam at school. Each time I was sure I’d given an Oscar worthy {Read More}

A Hand Model’s Daily Beauty Routine

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of AmLactin. The opinions, text and severely dry hands are all mine. Aside from freshening up my hair with dry shampoo, applying BB Cream or a light foundation, adding a dab of blush and giving my lashes a much needed boost with mascara, part of my morning beauty routine is moisturizing my hands. Especially now with the colder weather and drier air. They don’t get just dry, they CRACK and peel {Read More}

Sleeping My Way to the Top (VIDEO)

I am in no way proud of the fact that I was suffering (I’m recovering now…working on it every day) from massive sleep deprivation. No, not tired. But actual full on sleep deprivation. As in, I didn’t sleep for more than 4 hours. And when I did, it was not good quality sleep. With the depression, anxiety and general work, it was just part of the toxic mix I was in and I couldn’t get out of the vicious cycle. {Read More}

5 Ways to Maintain Your Sanity During the Holidays

This is a compensated post in collaboration with Children’s MOTRIN and The Motherhood. All views and the ideas to keep sane are my own.  It’s here, IT’S HERE! The holiday season that is. Even though it’s two weeks away, it’s still HERE. That’s not an exciting shout, it’s more of a “Ay Dios mio how am I going to do all of it?” kind of shout. Every year I say I will be organized and every year I’m not. I end {Read More}
