We all like to look and feel good, that’s just natural. No one purposely sets out to do the opposite — at least I wouldn’t think they do!
As a woman and mother, I’ve had my ups and my doooooowns and each time with help and support I get back up, get it sorted and move on. Many times when we do start anew, we start by changing something such as our diet, starting a new exercise routine or simply getting your hair cut and colored for a fresher you.
Now image your down or low point has been fighting cancer? It’s an extremely difficult and stressful time in a woman’s life and it’s a situation where the person needs as much support, love and care as possible. Getting back up and feeling like “you” again become a harder task.
That’s where Look Good Feel Better comes in. They are a 25 year strong public service program dedicated to helping women living with cancer manage the appearance side effects of cancer treatment such as chemotherapy, radiation and others to improve their self-esteem by offering free personal styling, makeup and hair/wig workshops.
Take a look at this beauty video by What Not To Wear’s makeup artist showing a group of women a simple beauty routine:
And now for OUR turn! Look Good Feel Better has partnered with fashion retailer C.Wonder and Fashion Project to donate to their month-long clothing drive at participating C. Wonder stores or online at www.fashionproject.com/cwonder.
In return, you receive 20% off a C. Wonder purchase and get a tote. Every item donated will be sold online with 55% of the proceeds going to Look Good Feel Better.
Look, it’s Labor Day weekend, I started doing an end of summer clean out this week and I have bags of stuff to donate — but there are no participating locations near me….HOWEVER…ah ha! You can order a free donation bag or print a free pre-paid label at home here and simply fill the bag and hand over to UPS.
