Compensated post in collaboration with The Motherhood and Children’s MOTRIN. All experiences my own.
Yes, that me. And you. And you. And, yes YOU over there — all of us and the makers of Children’s MOTRIN® know that and are also inspired by all the things we do.
From quick family meals to keeping the kids entertained on rainy days, we may not always realize it, (well, I do!) but we are amazing in so many ways. We are on call day and night and we really do have unique knowledge that can really help other moms through their journey.
Even so, (and this isn’t to put a damper on things) it’s ironic I’m writing about this today because this week I’ve had come to slowwwww down — it’s never a complete stop, because with children, that is just not possible but you know, take an extra long pause. I am dealing with depression and anxiety which feels like swimming in murky waters.
Every so often it clears up and you can move ahead and then you are back to sifting through the mud, moving slower, and left wondering when will this ever clear up?
However despite the murky waters I am still an unstoppable mama. I’m not one for tips (in fact, I don’t like that word) but I share my personal experiences with others so that you can learn from my actions and it’s a way for me to stay accountable. It’s more like “learning by doing” not by saying.
Having that in my mind, I’ve rarely done what my own unstoppable mama has told me, rather after reflecting for a while I came to realize that I’ve acted on what I have SEEN her do.
— I’ve seen her hold a child in one arm, make dinner with the other while helping me memorize lines for my play and instruct my brother on his homework at the same time.
— I’ve seen her raise three bilingual children in a time when everyone was telling her it would “hinder” our English language skills.
— I’ve experienced her parent in a tough but loving way.
— I’ve seen her struggle with depression and anxiety herself yet keep the family together and moving forward.
— I’ve seen her faith and prayer make her stronger woman and mother.
— I’ve experienced her crafting, playing and getting dirty with us as kids, something that comes back to me when I’m with my own kids.
These area all things I am doing now in my life thanks to her positive guidance — thanks to my unstoppable mamá I am unstoppable too!
