Jeans are never easy to shop for and over the years I’ve come to realize that it’s not just me. All over, women are not fully satisfied with the way their pants fit. One thing I cannot tolerate is the gap in the back — ahhhh drives me insane. I’ve never had a problem with it myself, but I’ve been “exposed” to it many a times.
My number one rule for jeans is (actually two rules): 1. They must have some sort of stretch in them and 2.No back gap. With that, I’m good to go!
This is a sponsored collaboration with Redbook and Lee Misses. All opinions are my own.
See, I’ve got hips and thighs and my body isn’t straight and narrow. When I wear jeans I need them to fit to my curves, to boost my bum, accentuate my waist and make me look and feel slim and comfortable.
Years ago, that was a big ask — I’m talking about non-existent.
But now there are more jean options, such as the New Lee Curvy Fit Jeans, which, as their saying goes, is “The Fit that Loves Your Curves as Much as You Do.” They are designed with real women in mind to be flattering, versatile and affordable (very important!) — especially for us mamas!
The Black Curvy Fit Straight Leg looks best with my personal style. Even before I had them up over my hips and zipped, I knew they were the perfect pair — they felt welcoming and one leg at a time I realized I was stepping into a jean haven. I didn’t have to worry about tugging them up, exposing my undies, muffin top explosions or having a protruding tummy.
Despite what people think, jeans can be styled in a variety of ways. During the day I personally like rolling them up for a comfy, chic and casual mama look. Yes, even when it’s cold. I don’t like socks much and any chance I can show some ankle, (I know, sooooo daring!) I do. Especially as I’m running my kids to school then back home to work or out to meetings.
When it does get colder I leave them down to wear with booties and at night, switch out the flats for a pair of heels. My husband is 6 ft so at some point I have to make an effort to get “closer” to him — makes kissing a whole lot easier!
So back to these being the perfect fit for my curves — everything was neatly and stylishly where it was meant to be and I looked and felt how I was meant to all along.
Now that we officially kick off the holiday season this week, don’t deny yourself a great a pair of jeans! (as a bonus, they have enough stretch so that you won’t need to break out your turkey pants this Thursday.)
