This post comes to you after being in pj’s for an entire day and just lounging around the house with the husband and kids. Christmas Day and Boxing Day were sunny and gorgeous here in the DC area and nearly 50 degrees. We took a walk around Jones Point in Alexandria and let the kids run it out.
It was an easy going day — barely any makeup, dry shampoo to get my hair looking somewhat decent and a simple, easy yet stylish outfit that consisted most of J. Jill pieces.
J.Jill to me was an old lady store — right up there with Coldwater Creek and LL. Bean. I thought it was too BLAH and certainly not for me. However, in the past year I’ve worked with and have been able to add pieces from their collections to my wardrobe allowing me to get to know and appreciate the brand.
My conclusion: Simple yet effortlessly chic allowing you to dress confidently and comfortably for any occasion.
Case in point, this outfit which may look dressy, but it’s stylish yet comfy enough for a family walk. I’ve always said that dresses and skirts are better for the colder months because you can wear thick tights and give the jeans a rest.
DETAILS: Stretch striped skirt is from Old Navy, black control top tights (a must!), black top from Loft (not seen), red peacoat, brown boots and grey hoodie are all J. Jill (gifted to me at different times throughout the year).
In 2015 I’ll be keeping my eye on this brand and you should too. It’s normal to get used to shopping at a few places but it’s good to expand your options. Especially as we get older. Hello, I’m 36 now!
