Clothing provided by J. Jill for one shirt three ways post.
Getting dressed is more than the act of putting on clothes. Anything from putting together looks with just a few pieces, mixing patterns, thinking of ways to style one garment several ways or giving life to a tired look are just a few ways it can be and is a creative process for me.
At 36 I’m drowning out clothing and shoes that don’t make it past one season due to lower quality and slowly (when budget allows!) replacing with garments made of finer and higher quality fabrics that can be worn a variety of ways and provide style longevity.
The New Easy collection by J.Jill delivers exactly that, and more. Their wardrobe is inspired by carefree weekends but made for everyday allowing for casual, comfortable yet chic looks. As a mamá of two and working for myself I often jump into different roles throughout the day which sometimes require a change in outfits.
Here I’ve taken a grey and black mixed stripes knit tunic from the collection and created three different looks for three different moments in my life — with the kids at the playground, a going out look for a date night or drinks with the girls and business chic when meeting new clients or working an event.
3 Ways to Wear a Striped Top
>>Grey and black mixed stripes knit tunic, light blue Superga sneakers from J.Jill, simple black trousers and black puffer jacket<<
>>Grey and black mixed stripes knit tunic, Kate Spade Taxi “Go” flats, black trousers or leggings, added black Altuzarra for Target blazer<<
How easy is this?
All I did was swap out shoes, added jewelry, included a vest and blazer and I ended up with three very different looks.
Your turn! Take one garment (a top is easier) lay it on your bed and add to it pants, shoes and accessories for three different occasions. Like anything else, it takes practice but once you get going, it gets easier and enjoyable!
Which is your favorite look?
