I’m really proud of this because after realizing that I don’t do much else other than write, photograph and make videos, I needed a hobby — another creative outlet that I could enjoy and have on-going projects for myself. Enter the easy and super stylish DIY chalkboard table!
Starting slow and small, I grabbed my kids old, scribbled on, no-color table and turned it into a fun and stylish chalkboard table — and it cost only $8!
Chalk paint $6 (Walmart or any craft store)
Paint brush .47¢
Duck Tape with mustaches $1 (Dollar Store!)
Wipe down table with damp cloth
With even strokes, start painting the top of the table
Once the first coat is done, let sit for one hour
Paint a second coat and let dry overnight
After table is dry, cut pieces of masking tape and wrap them around each leg from top to bottom
The mustache masking tape gives the chalkboard table a quirky, fun and edgy feel
A super stylish and quirky table that doesn’t look like a typical “play table” and is fun for the kids!
It doesn’t have to be just for the kids. The chalkboard table can also be used to decorate a room, an office, used as a coffee table or out on porch as seen here for those summer time happy hours!
What do you think of my very simple, CHEAP and stylish DIY project?
In case you are wondering, YES — I am already working on another piece of furniture and this time I was inspired by my coral colored lipstick. Ooooh, it’s going to be good!
