Motherhood: it’s like being punched in the face and then kicked in stomach out of nowhere. The actual act of mothering literally comes out of thin air. One moment you are pregnant and the next you are responsible for another human life,
as if and their life depends on it.
Sponsored post in collaboration with NIDO; helping moms give the proper nutrition to their kids so they can keep growing together and have an amazing future. Stories of motherhood and how I raise my family are my own. Of course!
It’s an overwhelming feeling and no woman, no matter how smart, educated or ready they think they are is prepared for their new role.
However, like everything in life you learn to be a mother — to protect, guide, feed, educate and love. It’s only when you become a parent that you truly for the first time realize just how much your parents loved you and why they did what they did.
I thanked and even apologized to my mamá for all the crazy stuff I had done over the years! THAT’S how powerful becoming a mother is.
Parenting styles vary from family to family, but one thing is for sure, we are all working on raising healthy and happy kids. For our family it means spending quality time with each other without always having to plan or do something — things as simple as doing yard work with papi or helping me fold laundry.
And despite not being very good in the kitchen, I cook with my kids to motivate and teach them to not only cook, but enjoy the process and make smart and healthy choices (not to mention then THEY can cook for ME!)
How do you work to raise healthy and happy kids?
