Together with the kids, we’ve been purchasing newborn essentials for our sweet addition at Target which is our one-stop-shop for basically everything — especially baby items!
They helped select and place both the Playtex VentAire bottles and the Diaper Genie Pail Complete in their very own shopping carts fighting over who got what. I just hope they are this happy when the baby is actually here!
Plus, having already had one child, we knew what we were actually going to use versus what was “nice to have.”
Bottles we know are newborn essentials and given my history, I have not been able to successfully breastfeed so I’ve had to use them early on — and it may happen again. Even if it doesn’t, bottles are the ONE thing you need with a newborn.
The VentAire bottles are angled to help prevent ear infections and the bottom vent means no air mixes with the milk keeping baby happy! Oh, and about the NaturaLatch nipple — it is known for being simple and a natural switch between breast and bottle feeding.
As far as caca goes, my son was THRILLED to know we’d have a new diaper pal. The “smell comes out” of the old one he said, and he doesn’t want to use it again. Poor guy, says he couldn’t sleep sometimes… oops!
The new Diaper Genie Complete has a built-in filter to help lock in the smell, has a foot pedal so you don’t have to touch it and it has a 7 layer refill bag. All this, plus it holds up to 270 dirty diapers?! WHAT?
A quick tip for second and third time mamas — some things are better bought new again to ensure freshness. Case in point the diaper genie and Playtex VentAire bottles even blankets, and toys.
What did you decide to purchase new again with your second, third (or more!) babies?
