It’s non-maternity from Loft, and despite it being a mixed linen, my nearly 7 month belly fit comfortably and was a hit for Mother’s Day — meaning I felt stylish and confident in what I was wearing. It’s nice to be able to wear non-maternity clothing and avoid overspending. This dress, along with my blue and white maxi dress will work great post-baby.
The sun was shining but it wasn’t too warm yet — so I added this classic denim jacket from the Gap that I’ve had since my college days circa 1998! BUT, I was totally channeling Chris Farley “fat guy in a little coat” because it was a SNUG (ok, TIGHT) fit. Why wear it?
Truth is I don’t like my arms flapping around so I needed to cover them up. But it works!
Underneath it all, OF COURSE I’m wearing my Jockey slip shorts for ulta-comfort, no rolling down and chafe-free experience.
I belted it at the top of my belly to accentuate the waist and not look like I’m wearing my grandma’s curtains — or a moo moo. Ya know, ya know.
Remember, getting dressed it just that, an action. Something anyone can do.
Putting an outfit together or creating a look is all about creativity — really seeing what can work for your body now or how to re-style something without needing to buy something new.
Have a wonderful week and to all my pregnant friends — keep strong, keep stylish!
