I don’t make resolutions for the new year — I have a rotation of goals and changes that I actively work towards in my life year round. It works out better for me this way — and keeps me sane.

One of the constant changes I’ve actively sought out is personal growth — spiritual, professional and maturity that each year brings. However, it all means nothing if that that personal growth is kept to myself.
With growth comes a responsibility — to motivate, educate and SHARE real stories, real experiences, real life.
Being an online influencer is a form of entertainment where one can easily show only the pretty stuff — but if not honest can fade away quickly.
The biggest reward for me, especially in the past year since creating my Spanish only YouTube channel and Facebook page la chilena gringa has been showing the accomplishments of other Chileans and Latinos and how they are making a mark in the world.
People RELATE to me, people LEARN from me and in turn pass that on to the next person and the next and so forth. That’s when it hit me, I can make a difference doing this — my style may not be the norm — through comedy, funny videos but I get those brains thinking.
In early 2017 AT&T conducted a Hispanic research study (Spanish dominant and bilingual individuals in the U.S.) and found that 68% believe technology is key to the empowerment of the Latino community in the U.S.
Through these findings, AT&T is igniting a conversation about how people can use technology and mobility for the greater good and for the pursuit of happiness — you know goals, aspirations in all aspects of their lives.
Beyond online, I truly want to lead and impact my community, especially the latino community in a positive way. Telling my stories, sharing personal experiences as a chilean growing up in the US but more so, sharing accomplishments from others in my community brings me great satisfaction.
Just when I think no one is listening, I’ll get a message or email from someone asking for my advice or telling me how one of my videos made them feel less alone, or gave them the push they needed or simply a thank you.
That pushes me further for growth and the cycle continues!
When one grows, we all GROW 😉
